*Snow House*
When I was little my Grandma made a Snow House - to us it was the most magical thing ever. On Boxing Day we were allowed to put our little hands inside, reach in and retrieve a little present. It made the end of Christmas, just that little bit easier! Over the years it disintegrated and so this week I made one exactly the same.....but with a little extra.
In the roof is a magic window - if you find it and look in you will see by the light from the chimney a little, glittery Nativity Scene. Wish I could show you, but only those who find the Magic Window get to see the Christmas Family.

Magical indeed, what a lovely idea!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic tradition! What a lovely idea, and I'm so glad you were able to continue it with your children. My mother in law always hides small presents among the branches of the Christmas tree on Boxing Day, for a similar reason.
ReplyDeleteI remember having a similar cotton-wool covered snowman on the table full of little presents - one of the most exciting things about Christmas!

What a wonderful, magical cottage. I can imagine the excitement the original one must have created for you when you were little, and I am sure your new one will will make your girls giggle with pleasure and their eyes light up with anticipation and excitement.
ReplyDeleteThat is sooooo lovely
