I'm a Barbie / Sindy / Farah Girl
This is more of a tribute to the Two Crazy Crafters, whose Blog I think is lovely.
I was in a CS recently and bought this adorable knitting pattern for 9p - makes a change to buy something vintage for cheaper than its original price! Firstly I should point out I can't knit - well ok a scarf, but that's it - so I really did buy this for the pictures.
It was relevant when I bought it because it includes the recently passed Farrah Fawcett doll.
It says it includes Barbie - but none of them look like Barbie - just Sindy - Philistine I hear you cry!!!
The woolens are just so.............woolly.

Oh thank you so much!!!!! Your too sweet!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe doll in the picture with the Farrah Faucet doll is a Barbie.
I love it too when you get something vintage for cheaper than t's original! It doesn't happen much but it's exciting when it does!!!
I can't wait for the Wizard of OZ Gala!! I'm happy your participating!! I can't wait to visit everyone's blogs that day!!
I have had my WOZ soundtrack cd on full blast in my craft room!!!
Happy Wednesday, Lindsey
OMG I can remember my Sindy wearing knitted clothes like that. I had so many Sindy dolls, if only i'd kept them.
ReplyDeleteI'm also a fan of Twyla and Lindsey and really look forward to their Barbie posts, is that very sad of me?
Hope you're enjoying the rain, there's only so much you can do with the kids indoors.
Hang on, you're in Surrey aren't you? My Dad's there and you never seem to get the weather as crappy as unless it's snow of course then you get plenty.

Back in the 60s, my sister had so many Sindy dolls too..and so I knitted her loads of clothes.
ReplyDeleteI think I might have mentioned this before on a blog... but at around that same time there was uproar in Newton Abbot as W.H.Smiths did a window display of Sindy,Paul and Patch (remember Patch?) and they put Sindy and Paul in a bed... together!! ;-)
I have a post coming tomorrow on some doll knitting patterns I brought recently,

Brilliant, and I am soooo going to ask to borrow it. I really want that silver dolls dress that the brown haired doll is wearing. In fact the brown haired dolls outfits are all really cute.
ReplyDeleteI have recently "re-discovered" Sindy dolls - they bring back so many memories of my childhood and the Sindy with the dark hair and flick-ups is, I think, the same Sindy that I remember so well. :-)
ReplyDeleteWould you consider sharing a photocopy of the patterns? I have been looking for this pattern. I knitted it back in the 70's and have an inexplicable urge to knit it all again. Name your price, if you still have it. Thanks
