10 Years of Horse & Carriage.

Yes it was our 10th Wedding Anniversary on Friday, and DH took a day off to be with me. 10 years traditionally is.....tin. Hmph, not very glamorous. So I wrapped all his pressies up in tin foil - how easy is that to do in a rush! I made a romantic envelope for his vintage Anniversary card. An old vintage tin.....A Cornish tin St. Christopher, engraved on the back. The tin is 'Shipwreck' tin from the SS Liverpool which sank in 1863. And a huge 1970's Sweetie Shop Tin full of 'old school' sweeties!!!! Yum Yum Yum - DH is such a big fan of sweeties - he was so happy - like a kiddie in a sweet shop!!!! A lovely print from The Black Apple entitled " As Long As I Have You" - and these two characters remind me so much of us as a young couple - the three parachutes in the background a reminder of our three precious arrivals somewhere on the horizon. (excuse the flash) I dug out a few mementos for the day and rediscovered this - a beautiful scrapbook my mum made for me and surprised me with when I returned from my honeymoon - isn't it lovely? She had collected everything and I mean everything possible from our wedding day! This is one of our Wedding Invites which DH and I slaved over night upon night - a message in a bottle. i wanted something really different (at the time it was) - and something I could persuade the Post Office to send. We had a Fairy themed wedding, original for its time, so we had little fairy place settings with a named scroll, that opened up to reveal a personalised fairy spell - where did we find the time???? So, what did DH get me you ask? These.........and at a meal that night he whisked me away for the weekend to the most exclusive hotel and spa I have ever been to. It was amazing and beautiful - just like him. Thank you DH for all that you are. TTFN xxxx

  6. Congrats on your ten year anniversary, quite an achievement, so glad you were spoiled rotten in a lovely hotel. Loved seeing all your weddings bits 'n' pieces. I see the Bridal House Chester note, I was brought up in Chester (my family still live there) and I remember going with my elder sister when she bought her wedding dress from there.
