Lazy Saturday Makes.

I took an old bed tray that I bought at CB for £1 and used one of my trusty vintage decals to make this..... Then took a plain cream bucket and used a decal on that too! But I don't know what to do with all my vintage lace Do you like the bowl? CB for £4 - I thought the blue detailing was very pretty, ofcourse it would have once had the jug too, I seem to have alot of these bowls minus the pitcher.
Any suggestions for these? Seriously?
5 small patches with little hens on - great ! But to what use? Fringing and edging (£2 each at CB) And some lovely material (lots of it) - it looks a bit vile here but it's actually very pretty. I value your input my bloggy friends! TTFN xxxxx

  1. The table looks great, amazing what a simple makeover can do isn't it?
Loving your lace and I really like that fabric, would make some great cushion covers. No ideas for your hen patches though, sorry!

  6. Love the tray, and the rest of your gorgeous work.
I'm thinking that your lace, patches and fabric would make a lovely quilt - have you seen the work of Elvis Robertson ?
    You'll find her on flickr.
And thank you for your lovely comment on my stuff.

  9. I have plans for lace too. I've not actually got round to it yet, but it looks great in my head. Was going to use it on linen dollies making for the Buns, or edging on cardigans and denim skirts. Could do full 80's thing and sew it down the sides of your jeans if you feel like getting stared at.

  10. What a lovely collection of craft and potential craft! I've used some machine lace over Chinese silk to make the front part of some little purses - the turquoise silk looked great through the lace. I've also used some bits to make rosettes to adorn photo frames (with MOP buttons in the middle) and have glued a strip of lace onto a pannel to separate some vintage ephemera.

You have one bit which looks like it might be worth keeping in one piece - on the right of the top photo; a fine creamy net with little flowers on. Can you tell what it is from the shape? I wonder if it was a bonnet veil.

  11. Great makeover on that table!! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. :) I bet you'd get some good feedback on your cloth rooster hankies (patches?) if you link up to my "Decorating Dilemmas" party. I should have it up around 10 pm (ET) tomorrow night. :)
